Change and growth can feel like a resistance band.

Here we are… the month of…September.  Soon the leaves will be changing and starting to fall. The air will turn crisp and cool, the days shorter and the nights longer.  All to often we welcome Fall as a reprieve from the heat of a long summer. This year however; I find myself looking forward… to hibernation.  I feel like I have grown so much this year…yet at the same time, I have felt a lot of personal exposure and resistance.  It has left me feeling a bit like a resistance band (the kind you exercise with).  I grow in legnth…stretch my horizons to see and do Read more…

The irrelevance of time….

Have you ever been standing somewhere and just forget where you were going?  Forget what time it was, what day it is? Experience a momentary lapse of time? This has happened to me a lot lately.  Not that I am becoming lost or incoherrent…it is more like I have temporarily, checked out.  Time becomes irrelevant, it blends in like a Monet painting…no crisp lines to delineate one minute from the next.  I don’t think this is something that has suddenly begun to happen for me, I have felt it since the beginning of time…  HA!  What I meant to type was the beginning of the year.  I did Read more…

The Door…

Here you see a beautiful door.  Behind this door is a new chapter in your life.  What do you do?  When you come upon change and transition do you boldly go where no man has gone before…or do you stand there wondering…wondering what will lay before you, what will this new life look like? Do you ponder the decision to even open the door.  What if there is no plan no set creation.  Do you swell with fear or anticipate great excitement?   Change of any kind conjures up the most uncomfortable emotions.  Brings to surface all our doubts and reasons both why we Read more…

Maybe by allowing something to just “be” for now…will result in something bigger than what we could ever imagined before?

I recently stepped outside of my comfort zone and…wait a minute here, who am I kidding?  Recently?  Whatever!  I don’t know about the rest of you, but stepping outside our comfort zone seems to be the new zone! Everywhere I turn people are talking about some form of change. With the talk of change comes frustration and aggravation.  We are all creatures of habit and even though I like change,  I like to have some control over it. HA! For what seems like the majority, change is uncomfortable we seem to have a natural aversion that which is uncomfortable.  The Goddess Kali (pictured Read more…

Trust, like fear appears in all aspects of our life.

Learning to trust.  Trust issues are one of those things that continue to show up in our life. Each of us seem destined to revisit our relationship with trust over and over and over again.  The lessons within it are tenfold.  It amazes me how this one, relatively small, word can have such a big affect on all of us. We are told to trust so many things.  We are taught to trust, but then at the same time encouraged to second guess…but… trust at the same time.  It becomes convoluted and confusing.  So often when we think we have overcome a hurdle, a life lesson, we come face Read more…

The Dragonfly and I

About four days ago (while still on vacation) I was getting ready to do some meditating on the deck of the cabin we were staying at.  As I stood on the deck looking at the lake in the distance… I noticed  a few dragonflies sitting and flying around me on the deck.  I had thought this was odd since the earlier part of the week I had not noticed a single dragonfly prior to this moment.  Putting my attention back to meditating I was just about to turn to sit in a chair, when suddenly a dragonfly landed on my elbow.  I turned my head Read more…

Time to create that space that allows you to release and reset for the new tomorrow.

A Sanctuary, a message I keep receiving is that we all need to be creating a space that provides silence to allow ourselves to heal. This space could be inside or outside of your home or just within your heart in meditation. The place is really irrelevant actually, what is important is creating this sacred sanctuary space now.    Definition of Sanctuary provided by Wikipedia “A sanctuary, in its original meaning, is a sacred place, such as a shrine,  By the use of such places as a safe haven, by extension the term has come to be used for any place of safety. This secondary Read more…

To find balance we must learn the art of being flexible.

I have been thinking a lot about what it means to be balanced. The word itself keeps popping up in my life.  It comes up in almost all of the personal readings I have, as well as within my family life.  For some reason this one little word seems so difficult for me to blend into my field as well as into my life.  I understand the word.  I understand the concept, but I just cannot seem to implement it into my life…correctly.  Every time I think I have it mastered …BAM! I faced with the reality of something that I forgotten about, and realize my so-called “balance” was just a form of Read more…

Decoding our messages, are not always as easy as we would like them to be.

If a picture paints a thousand words…then why have I been having such a hard time finding the words to write? I am going to blame it on the eclipse.   I have read that this solar eclipse was supposed to really flush to the surface all the things we have worked on that we have not completely worked through or just shoved under the proverbial rug…job well done…solar eclipse…job well done.  I suppose this is what happens when time and time again we choose to ignore or temporarily placate those pesky issues.   I was directed to become quiet and call upon the Goddess Sige last Friday.  I did , Read more…
