What are you focusing on?

I have been thinking a lot lately on the art of focus. The various things that captivate us and propel us forward.  Where we place our focus. We seem to spend the majority of our time focusing on the external things in our lives… things that are going on all around us.  Making sure this is right, this is good, their taken care of, etc. In all our concern for everyone else there seems to be little time spent on internal focus. When it comes to taking the time to look within we seem to procrastinate. The great art of Read more…

Do you cry because its over or smile because it happened?

Dr. Seuss has not only provided us with an infinite amount of entertainment in his colorful rhymes and stories, but has provided us with an enormous amount of insight and inspiration.  He was full of amazing quotes that really make you stop and think…below is one of my favorites. Don’t cry because it’s over…Smile because it happened. Dr. Seuss There are so many chapters in our lives that no matter how painful they are to end, they must.  We need to stop and look at what we do to ourselves and others when we hold on too long.  What do you Read more…

What I learned about life while climbing a mountain.

I am feeling a bit off kilter this week, as well as a little behind schedule.  My husband and I climbed our first fourteen-er,here in Colorado, Mt. Beirstadt on Monday this week. It is said to be one of the four easier mountains.  I am not sure I would call it “easy” but…I was able to complete it so there is that.  Took 7 hours there and back, not a time to brag about although I will.  I am extremely proud of both of us. Climbing that mountain this week made me really look at the many different obstacles in Read more…

Four parts to the self that are often overlooked.

When you start to describe yourself, how do you do it?  There are many descriptive words that the majority seem to use in basic intros.  Words like male or female, short or tall seem to start off the description and then some will begin to go deeper and begin to define aspects of themselves with things like married, single, children, mother, father, pieces of what we outwardly appear to be.  This works when dealing in social situations, but have you ever really wondered what comprises the self?  Many may be thinking or saying…our experiences.  Sure our experiences help to mold Read more…

Do you sometimes feel like an observer in your own life?

I have noticed lately that I have become an observer of sorts within my own life.  Watching, listening and at times participating.  This seems to be such a new and unfamiliar time for so many of us.  This time of transformation.  We seem to be living in the moments before something happens. Time moving forward at the same speed it has always moved, and yet I feel slightly disconnected with the flow.  This is not necessarily a bad thing…but most certainly different than the regular hustle and bustle I have been accustom to. Since everything is a form of Read more…

Hidden lessons.

Balancing river rocks in the desert

I have been guided once again to work on my guided journal that I have wanted to publish. The thoughts have been in my head for a few years…and well it is really about time I put it officially out there. It is one of those artistic creations that look a specific way in my head and well as I put it to paper it’s looking slightly different. I guess that is where the message to remove expectations so we can receive better than we imagined comes in. I am putting it out here for some accountability I guess. I Read more…

Have you ever wanted to ask a psychic a question?

You know, test it… see if they had the magic answer?  The truth is there are no magic answers.  What there is, is plenty of guidance, enlightenment and often validation. So often the idea of getting a “reading” from a psychic stays an idea.  Look at the list of common reasons and see if any of these resonates with you: Fear Of having your mind read Seeing your inner most secrets Losing control Being manipulated Told scary news Being exposed What others might think if they new Feeling foolish Money- what if you spend all that money Read more…

It is time…time… to let it go….

How many of us feel frozen? Sure this time of year many of us are saying uh…duh…its winter, and one of the coldest winters at that is most areas of the United States.  My own birth state of Minnesota has been under a frozen tundra of ice and snow for most of the season. But, that’s not really what I am talking about.  Like the weather…how many out there feel frozen in place, like you are waiting for a thaw?  I finally saw the Disney movie Frozen this last weekend… and it really made me think.  Read more…

What happens when you no longer want what you thought you wanted?

January 2nd started like any other ordinary day for me.  I woke up and went to work.  Of course I had spent the New Year affirming my intentions for not only the New Year, but the New moon.  Like many of you I was ready, ready to take the next steps along my path.  Then…the phone rings.  Screech~~~~~~ What happened was intentions that had been previously set, were beginning to  manifest, and this made me aware of something. So often we talk about how to get what we want, which is good, however Read more…

The possibilities are endless when you learn to be an active participant in your own life.

It seems that I recently came down with a good old fashion case of writers block…again.  I have struggled for most of the month to really take thought to pen. There has been so much going on, so much to talk about, but by the time I have a moment or two, to sit and type it out something else feels more relevant to discuss. I think the biggest message I have been receiving and hearing is to “Be in it”, to live it, to be an active participant in your own life.  To live outwardly as you would when Read more…
