The truth is we are always learning about ourselves

It has been awhile since I have posted a new entry. I am trying to find my new center. I have been faced once again with the challenge of practicing what I preach. My days of late have been anything but calm or meditative.  They have been sprinkled with emotions that have left me wondering who I am.  I have heard this little voice in my head numerous times in a day saying “what are you doing?  It has been scary at times, For the most part I have been able to remain steady and calm, understanding that what I Read more…

Another Mountain Monday in September

I was so happy to to be able to get out before the rain came through today and enjoy the beautiful season of Fall. The air was crisp and fresh…and the ground moist from the rain of the evening before. We love finding new places to explore and are so lucky to be surrounded with so many options!  As we started out we watched the sky and all the fog rolling around above us with confidence that it would remain fog and not turn into rain. The path led us into a beautiful mix of forest and rock terrain.  It Read more…

Do you cry because its over or smile because it happened?

Dr. Seuss has not only provided us with an infinite amount of entertainment in his colorful rhymes and stories, but has provided us with an enormous amount of insight and inspiration.  He was full of amazing quotes that really make you stop and think…below is one of my favorites. Don’t cry because it’s over…Smile because it happened. Dr. Seuss There are so many chapters in our lives that no matter how painful they are to end, they must.  We need to stop and look at what we do to ourselves and others when we hold on too long.  What do you Read more…

What I learned about life while climbing a mountain.

I am feeling a bit off kilter this week, as well as a little behind schedule.  My husband and I climbed our first fourteen-er,here in Colorado, Mt. Beirstadt on Monday this week. It is said to be one of the four easier mountains.  I am not sure I would call it “easy” but…I was able to complete it so there is that.  Took 7 hours there and back, not a time to brag about although I will.  I am extremely proud of both of us. Climbing that mountain this week made me really look at the many different obstacles in Read more…

Four parts to the self that are often overlooked.

When you start to describe yourself, how do you do it?  There are many descriptive words that the majority seem to use in basic intros.  Words like male or female, short or tall seem to start off the description and then some will begin to go deeper and begin to define aspects of themselves with things like married, single, children, mother, father, pieces of what we outwardly appear to be.  This works when dealing in social situations, but have you ever really wondered what comprises the self?  Many may be thinking or saying…our experiences.  Sure our experiences help to mold Read more…

This Weeks radio show ~ how do you decode the messages in your life

Join Jackie this week as she talks about the transition from spring to summer.  She discusses the process of moving from one season to another and the effect it has on us. She urges us to be alert and pay attention to the messages we each receive from nature.  Stop assuming and allow oneself the permission to see the message we are being given, see the symbolism.  Jackie shares some the messages she has decoded that she has received from nature (messages for herself as well as for those she has read for).  She talks about how you can translate your Read more…

Hidden lessons.

Balancing river rocks in the desert

I have been guided once again to work on my guided journal that I have wanted to publish. The thoughts have been in my head for a few years…and well it is really about time I put it officially out there. It is one of those artistic creations that look a specific way in my head and well as I put it to paper it’s looking slightly different. I guess that is where the message to remove expectations so we can receive better than we imagined comes in. I am putting it out here for some accountability I guess. I Read more…

The proverbial Clean Slate…

Here we are…the beginning of a New Year.  The proverbial CLEAN SLATE. Hmph….clean slate…possibly.  I suppose I think of it like this a little as well. It is in a sense that one time of the year that we seem to give our selves the permission to start over and LET…Things GO.  But why do we feel we have to wait and do this only once a year?   This year, try to carry the feeling that ANYTHING is possible with you through out the year!  Agree to give yourself the permission to let go of the things in your life that no Read more…

Are you ready to deliver your tomorrow?

I decided to take some time and address this void I have been in. It has been very startling how easily I have been able to slip into a state of nothingness…. I don’t necessarily mind this state…it has just surprised me how easy it has been to go from something resembling chaos (life) to just being.   As of last week  I really started to notice that I have been having the hardest time….remembering the simplest of things.  Time seems to no longer be a relevant concept for me.  I have been over committing lately, and the result…is I have been finding myself spending more and more time Read more…
