Look out 2016, here I come!

This is the time of the year when you hear everyone talking about their New Year’s Resolutions.  That time of the year when we make a list of things we no longer want to do, a list of the things we are going to stop or start for the new year ahead. Rarely (for me personally) did anything really last.  All my list did for me was make me feel like I failed or frustrated me. A few years back I decided that we are all going about this “Resolution” thing all wrong. By focusing on what we don’t want Read more…

Happy 2015!

Let the manifestations begin! We start this new year with the full moon approaching in the sign of Cancer. The Cancer Full Moon is on January 4th.  It is about the power of your emotions. Feelings are what guide us, they help us to know if we are on the right path. You create from the passion of your feelings. Cancer rules our feelings and is about your soul. To start this year you need to be be true to your needs. Allow your feelings to guide you because your feelings are your truth.   This is true in your Read more…

Giving Thanks

Giving thanks is today’s task. Make it simple, make a list.  Thanksgiving used to be the one holiday that felt, how should I say it, real. For me my memories of the holiday actually feel pretty nonexistent, the earliest I can remember (right now as I write) are from when I was about 12 or 13 years old. It is a great time to remember to appreciate one another and to gather together and give thanks.  But…somehow that has changed.  The true meaning or purpose of the holiday has once again been corrupted by commercialism.  The gluttony of the feast Read more…

Are you able to see the unseen beauty?

My last short post prompted a thought.  I state that beauty is everywhere, I capture it where ever I go…it got me thinking…some of us are blessed to live in a more “picturesque ” location than others, and some have a natural way of seeing beauty in otherwise “ordinary” things. I would like to challenge everyone to make an effort and look for beauty where it may otherwise go unseen.  Seek out the unseen beauty that surrounds us all.  Notice it in the little things, the big things, all things! This is a great way to switch the thought process Read more…

Life is the journey, are you aware of the beauty that surrounds you?

It is easy to forget to notice the beauty around you.  Regardless of where you are in your life it is your choice to see the good…the beauty…the joy or the cracks and the flaws.  Change your perspective and look for something beautiful make it a game or a quest to find something beautiful in a complicated world. Today’s message: Take a moment to acknowledge where you currently are in your life. Appreciate your past (as hard as that may be at times) and look forward to your tomorrow. I urge you to become aware of your surroundings, stop and Read more…

I believe I can fly

Ever have one of those days when you believed anything was possible?  This is what last Saturday was for me. Wouldn’t have expected it being it was daylight savings time.  For those of you who are blessed to not have to follow this seemingly unnecessary seasonal passage, you are lucky! We have two each year, one in Fall, when you “fall” back an hour and one in the spring, where you “spring” ahead. Springing ahead is definitely the worse of the two. Losing and hour can really mess up our system… but this day… the weather was simply too beautiful Read more…

Remember when you were young and you would make Valentines boxes in class….

Here it is February. February is one of those months that many either love or hate.  Much of this is because of Valentine’s Day. We are told over and over what this holiday should mean to us.  You see the message everywhere you turn, store fronts, commercials and special advertisements are everywhere. If you are like most…you get the message! BUT….are we really getting the message?  Over the years I have come to realize that I have a very unique relationship with Valentine’s Day. I look at this day as a day to really appreciate the people in my life, not just those of the opposite sex.  I Read more…

Are you ready for hibernation…That time of deep focus and contemplation?

I wrote about the Squirrel quite awhile ago…and what he was preparing us for.  In that post I talked about the “Hibernation” stage.  Here is the link to that post if you are interested in familiarizing yourself; Let’s take a lesson from the squirrel. I believe we are now entering…that hibernation I spoke of. What do I mean by Hibernation? It is time for us to reflect and contemplate what we have learned and experienced thus far.  Time to really look at the whys and the how comes.  Time to ask ourselves what was the greater meaning of this or does Read more…
